Where can i buy a telescopic measuring stick to measure the load hight on my lorry?
Answers:
Do this. Get a piece of pipe about three inches shorter than your load height, A bolt about 4and a half inches long, and a nut. put the nut on the bolt, slide the bolt into the pipe. put the pipe on the floor, slide the bolt up to the measuring point, tighten the nut with your fingers until you have the height. Then you can lay the whole works on the floor and use a tape or whatever you people who say lorry instead of truck use to measure things, to measure the length of the tool you just made.
Jewsons, builders merchants.
B&Q they call it a tape measure these days.
any builders merchant or diy shops they are steel tapes which roll back into a holder the tapes are in different sizes 6ft 10ft 16 ft they are also marked in metric sorry I only deal in imperial
the surveyors use a 25' telescoping pole, look at a surveyors supply :)
Most DIY stores sell poles for putting in to ceiling rollers for about a fiver. These are telescopic so you could stand alongside your lorry and adjust the height of the pole and lock it up. Then measure it with a tape or ruler.
You are left with a very useful bit of equipment too!
