Speed cameras, how do you avoid paying them? Besides not speeding!?

Section 1 of the road traffic offenders act 1988 does not state cameras, it states caution? But you don't get a caution?

Answers:
If you broke the speed limit - just cough up. Limits are there for a reason which, on the whole, make sense.

If you DIDn't - well, then there's a process of appeal.
You could just ignore them until the police come to your house.Which they may or may not do.
Either buy a good radar detector, I would prefer Valentine One, which costs over 300 dollars or as soon as you see a radar hide behind any car going ahead of you. The most common places you would find a radar detector would be either a ditch or a turn , so avoid speeding there
I know an ex-copper who got a speeding ticket from a speed camera.
He wrote a nice letter saying both he and his wife had driven past that camera that day and they didn't know which of them caused the offence, and asked if they could provide a picture so they could decide who sped past the camera, he heard no more.

edit-I have been advised by my wife, he rang them.
Don't be so selfish!! Slow down and grow up while you're about it.
I have seen people use the hard shoulder when there's a camera to avoid getting caught!
Go to court and prove your side of the story.
we had a great scheme here for quite a long time ~ the infected community make sure that the camera snapping window is sprayed in solid grey paint- flash as much as you like, there ain't gonna be no photo and looks un-tampered with :D
You could hire that man "Mr Loophole" that all the celebs use.
I've heard the clear plastic license plate covers that look normal from head-on but distort the plate from a side view work. I've seen a spray-on product, but haven't heard of how well that works. Well those are ways to avoid being caught on camera.once you get the ticket I don't know what to tell you.
someone makes a legal licence plate cover that blocks photos
TV show 'Top Gear' a few years back proved that if you drive at 170 mph, then the camera doesn't flash! They did the test at various speeds, and in a variety of cars, the final car they tried was a TVR, went past it at 170...and the camera did nothing!
I have a great wee gadget called a Cobra 9050 - that picks up the Police Radar & Traffic lights etc.. If you get "flashed" by a camera at the side of the road - and you get a fine in the post - All you do is right back to them and tell them you do not know who was driving the car. as you cannot incriminate yourself ..tell them someone must have borrowed your car without your knowledge.. As for the Police stopping you make sure you have your mobile phone recording the Back seat interview .no doubt the Police will say something out of turn to you which may help you get off.
Get a Suzuki GSXR1300R . .and do 165+mph. ( it worked for me).but only after two tickets.. Oh and I'm in the UK , the Police are too busy beating up Muslims ..! ( Happy Days )..

put a grocery bag over your plate :(
may i reccomend reading motorcycle news and reading up on the cameras. a guy is fighting the fact that they are a breach of human rights on your right to remain silent. the police are basically getting you to incriminate yourself so they don't have to do any work. the advice that is available is take it to court and ask for an adjournent until the case has been heard in the european court of human rights in brussels. people should ask for the adjournment until it is heard and released the result because it will clog up the courts no end and they will take ages to work through every thing but the courts may look at all of the cases and throw them out in the end.officials don't like work they like nice easy jobs where they can sit on their arses and do nothing and get us joe public to do their work for them.
there i a machine to detect speed cameras better opt for it
go on ebay type in speed camera and you can get a legal letter which costs about a fiver and get away with it
apparently speed cameras are illegal
ps the letter worked for me !
Go by Camel
by law speed camera's have to be calibrated every so often to prove there working correctly,
if you argue your case and police constabulary that own that perticular camera cannot prove that that camera has not been calibrated in the specific time they cannot issue you with a penalty!!
hope this helps?
