Highlight aircraft developments which made possible by the introduction of jet engine?

Answers:
The only thing I can think of is that due to the powerful thrust of modern jet engines, larger passenger airplanes became possible and so mass transportation of people became possible and therefore the cost of flying came down tremendously. In the 1920s flying was only for the rich but nowadays flying between is relatively cheap and therefore accessible to almost everyone. The jet engine was a revolution.
Supersonic flight
There were big planes with long range and advanced technical solutions even before introduction of jets. like the Stratocruiser, Constellation, DC-6, Brabazon. the only major change with jets is that planes became faster and more reliable.
Flight as we know it today. Power to weight ratio offered by jet technology meant that aircraft could fly longer and faster than their internal combustion chamber counterparts. Concord, Blackbird, etc.
