I have a Vauxhall Signum Design 2.2 petrol can anyone advise on a quieter tyre than the Good Years fitted.?

I think I may have bought the wrong model, the suspension is very firm and maybe the quieter softer tyres may help.

Answers:
I've always found Goodyears to be noisy, and Avons have been awful as well, I changed a pair of only half-worn Avons because they droned like shot wheel-bearings. Because I have lowered and stiffened suspension and 17" alloys on my car I tend to use Japanese tyres, which are generally softer, stickier and quieter. Toyos or Nankangs have been good for me, but I gather that the Michelins are also good, expensive, but they last well.

Try to find a competent tyre-fitter (difficult I appreciate!)and ask his advice.

I have a more humble Corsa, but got the Goodyears replaced with Pirellis - the car has been far quieter since then. I've been thinking about a Signum - a bit different. How've you found it? (I'd go for an automatic)
Bridgestones are my tyre of choice
dont get pirelli's tyres! they are soft and wear out far quicker than the other makes
