Vauxhall Astra cockpit plastic vibrating noise?
Answers:
I used to have a Ford that had this problem. I found that there was a certain point on the dash that needed thumped to stop the vibration. One thump and it stopped for most of the day. I suspect it was something loose inside but a thump did the trick! Its very satisfying when you find the right place to hit, why not try it yourself!
I had that in a ford once
find what is doin it by touch, then put polystyrene cement in along the edge of it
it will not sticl anything, but it will fill the gap to stop the vibration
If you know where it is and can get under it, put in a small piece of foam rubber with the "stickem" on one side to keep it in place.
You should be able to pry it up enough to stick the foam in where it isn't visible, - thickness depends on amount of space available, - (you don't want a hump there when you are done).
Double stick tape works ok with foam,- if you don't have any of the "weatherstripping stuff" laying around!
screw missing
Get a bit of old sponge tuck it in the parts it rattles. job done
they are common to have rattles in them. one of the most common is one of the heater control cables hitting off the small storage bin below them in the centre binnacle - try removing the bin(four clips two top two bottom with a small flat screwdriver) and see if it cures it - if it does then stick foam to the top of the bin.
