How do I reset a car radio? Ours only plays 4 fm radio stations, reaches just 90.0 MHz. Thanks!?

Hi there
Most imported vehicles come with the japanese radio still installed. The japanese bandwidth for radio is from 70MHz to 90MHz and will only pick up BBC 2.
You will need to buy a band expander which is an inline component which can be fitted to the aerial jack. This will increase your bandwidth and allow you to listen to other radio stations. This is a good option if the stereo fitted works really well. /but if the stereo is damaged the time taken to fit this band expander can be used to by buy and install an aftermarket radio which can be fitted in its place. This will already be able to pick up the UK frequencies and you know the language will be in english rather than in japanese.
The emina is the same as the lucida and estima. It would take about 3/4 of hour to fit a new stereo. Its bolted in so make sure you get fitting instructions before giving it a go, Either way the radio has to come out to install this part so the choice is yours
Hope it helps
could be a radio that is half broken.but sounds more like either the radio antenna isn't up or the antenna plug on the back of the radio has come loose.
this will result in only picking up the strongest most local stations. mountains, hills, large cities will also cause radio's not to pick up many stations as well as this will interfere with the radio wave/signal.
Put one wet hand on the positive terminal of your car battery while
the other hand is connected to a battery charger.
Turn the BC up and watch your car stereo go all Del Buoy!!!11
Its not broken. It sounds like a Japanese radio that will only operate between these frequencies.
You need to fit a bandwidth expander. These are about £12 on Ebay and are easily fitted or pay more and get it done in shop. This will allow the radio to pick up all uk stations but still wiil not show the correct channel you are on on the display.
This is comman on all Jap imports. Hope this helps.
i got to agree with becks it is because it is a jap radio with different bandwidths
