My car has lost power?
Answers:
Throttle position sensor
Lose throttle cable
Air Mass meter
or, if it has a Carburator might need to be cleaned or rebuilt
well it is a laguna. what do u expect?
sure it's firing on all cylinders..??
You may have a brake thats rubbing. Drive the car for a while, sop and see if the temperature of the wheels are about the same. If one wheel is hot, that brake is dragging.
air filter may be blocked?
could be a faulty alternator, that drains power off the battery.
Check the air flow meter
check for smell of burning could be clutch thats slipping
Well it is 1.8 so it should have a bit of oomph no matter what make it is. Are you sure you haven't got water in the fuel tank or the ignition could need re timing, it sounds like the ignition is retarded. Let's face it, it could be anything. If the brakes are binding you can check that by getting on a quiet road and putting the car in neutral and seeing if it coasts.
if there is nothing obvious, brakepad rubbing, handbrake pulled, inside wheel cylinder etc,
the engine reings have worn of the pressure built by burning fuel is lost due to gap between cylinder wall and piston rings.
start engine and take off the oil top-up cap if it blows back air you need new piston rings.
if it doesn't your ok. just needs a service
