Problem with bass on my 6"9 speakers?

I have a brand new set of 6"9 speakers and a perfectly working cd player. When i play a song with music faded in the centre there seems to be no bass whatsoever no matter how much i adjust it. however when music is faded either entirely to the left or right the bass is very good but of course one speaker is off. anyone had the same problem??

Presuming you have not used an amp, there is a good chance you have got the wires mixed up! Best way to test this is to either play a blank tape or tune the radio in to static whilst driving. If you can hear a whining through the speakers that increases/decreases with your revs then you have definitely got the positive and negative wires the wrong way around.
youre amp is under powered
Maybe some new Tweeters are needed.
I ran 300w 6x9's straight from a 95 corsa factory stereo, and they sounded fantastic.
