New car problem?

I have just bought a 2 year old car and notice when I drive it that there is a knocking coming from the rear. I have emptied the car totally so know that it is nothing rolling around. The knocking seems to be worse when travelling slowly and going round corners. My Dad seems to think it is the shock absorbers but does anyone else have any idea. Should I take it back to the garage and get them to check it out? I find the noise really annoying!

Answers:
take it back.legally they are contracted to have the car in workin order for a year ( even if they said it has no warranty) could be brakes, shock absorber, wheel bearing. i had a car n blew the engine after six months n was told it wouldnt be sorted as i didnt pay for there years warranty but citizens advice and trading standards say tht there has to be a standard of a year neways so garages jst use it as an incentive to get u to buy n get thm more money although they have to do it neways
take it back to the boys
does it have a warranty? even if it doesnt take it back and demand satisfaction!
Take it back to the dealership ASAP.
My dad's van had the same problem. It was the brakes. The guy that sold it to us said it had brand new brakes. The van is long gone now.
All cars bought from a trader must/do have a warranty.

Take it back.
I had this once and found it was the back-parcel-shelf had become loose and was rubbing slightly. Either that or check that the exhaust is hanging correctly.
i would check the front cv joints. they usually make noise when turning wheels and corners.
Aside from a rear differential, the difference between front wheel drive and rear wheel is not that great. Lift the rear end up and check for wheel bearing play by trying to move each wheel from side to side individually. If there is movement, your wheel bearings are no good. Make sure all suspension components look tight. It could be a bad rubber shock absorber mount or bushing. Good luck.
Its either a suspension coil or an anti roll bar. Take it to the garage.
Could also be a lose Panhard Rod underneath.
Lose spare tire
Something moving underneath the spare tire in the trunk
shocks gone after only 2 years !! Nah, that's not it. Take it back ! Without more details like make and model any suggestions are just "shots in the dark"
take it back and have them check it. it may sound like it is coming from the back but knocks and noises travel in cars and it could be coming from anywhere. is it the exhaust knocking against something else under the car? if not have all your rubber bushes checked out.
When asking car questions it it helpful to know the make, model etc...

Every car has its own problems.
