I believe some research was done about this matter and they found that the diameter of the exhaust pipe was inversely proportional to the IQ and educational attainments of the car's driver. Interesting result, but so obvious!
Better they put pipes on their cars than rings in their faces or tattoos across their bodies. They can get the expression of individuality out of their systems without permanently mutilating their bodies.

Because they still live with MOM and DAD and really don't know what to do with thier money.so they p-ss it away on huge exhaust pipes. In the long run this is good. The Police can hear and spot thier cars easyier.Give them a ticket for mod exhaust and the judge can give them a nice fine. Some of that money helps pay for police saleries. Sorry Mom and Dad..your kid has to countine to freeload off you because he can't aford his own place yet
While making a loud raspy sound, the smaller the engine the more irritating the sound I find, this can actually retard the performance of a normally aspirated engine, like the ones you find in a corsa.
The engine in a corsa, and similar city run abouts, is tuned for a specific back pressure, so when you reduce this you detune the engine leading to poorer performance and higher fuel consumption.

not at all i totally agree with u they look stupid sound terrible and if you see one correctly fitted let me know lol they think that by doin that adding 18 inch rims and a huge exhausts they hav a rocket car i get it all the time but i always win coz got a 1.6i 16v not a chance oh and mine is totally standard im 19 aswell DONT DO IT lol
