Whats the best/cheapest way to listen to my Ipod through my car's audio system??
Answers:
If you have a tape deck, a tape adapter. $15 from Wally-world.
-or-
An FM transmitter. It's like a miniature radio station that broadcasts on certain frequencies. You just tune your radio to one and enjoy. $20 from Wally-world
Note: Neither one of the options produces "great" results, but will work. For the transmitter, get one that plugs into the cigarette lighter for power, the battery kind eats up batteries.
Buy an iTrip or some portable speakers. If you use your earpieces you can only use one. It is illegal in most states to use both while driving.
if you have a cassete player in there you can buy these thingys that plug into you ipod and put the cassete in and hey presto it plays!! cant remember what they are called tho
Don't get a radio transmitter it is always bad static and they are costly. I suggest you get a cassette adapter if your car has a cassette player. They are cheap like $20 and the sound is good.
Buy the itrip it plugs into the ipod and you have to tune your radio to a station like 87.9 and you can listen to it without the headphones cause it comes out of the speakers.
itrip or cassette tape thingie
Look on e-bay
you can get a tape that you put in the player and it plugs into the headphone bit in your ipod you can get then in asda and hmv.
If you have an aftermarket stereo from the likes of Kenwood or sony, they will have phono plugs on the back. You just buy a lead that plugs into the phono plugs one end and your MP3 players jack plug the other.
Failing that, do it properly and get a proper installation done at your local ICE centre.
There have been some good answers so far but the best is to purchase (if money is no object) a new stereo that integrates with the mp3 player, you hook up the 3.5 mm plug to the stereo and now your stero controls your Ipod (you can keep your ipod in the glove compatrment) and it also charges the battery, these are slick systems and some are quite elborate with 7 in. LCD touch screens, rear view camera hook up, DVD receiver 5.1 audio outputs, a/v inputs, SWEEEEET!
FM transmitters suck! Depending on what vehicle and year model you have, you can get an ipod adaptor made by PIE (precision interface electronics) that will let you control your ipod from your factory radio and charge it as well. Go to PIE.net, look up ipod interfaces.
buy a phono to headphone plug cable and u should be able to plug the phonos into the bak of the stereo
