Tune up, the spark plugs arent relaying the message. Had the same prob with my 91 Honda Civic
get new spakr plugs!
check your air and oil filters
why didn't you buy a fiat!
Spray everything with WD40.
Replace distributor cap and spark plugs.
Check your battery.
about this time Toyota sold corolla's with both fuel injected engines and carberated engines [if injected suspect a possible bad temp sensor-out of range] if carb. does it run rough on the cold start [on 3 cyl's] for a little less than a Minute then just fine, if so the secondary accelerator pump diaphragm has a hole in it and is causing a overly rich mixture at start-up. this is a common problem and a repair kit is available from Toyota [a complete carb overhaul is not necessary] be careful around fuel no smoking etc. and good luck
I think the Fallopian tube is blocked.
