Try having the alternator tested. Change the plugs and leads, to ensure the cars getting a good clean spark. Replace the fuel filter.

drop the fuse box otop of this is a row of relays, relay 30 is the common one for non start faults.
First you might want to de-coke the carburettor and the spark plugs, if they get too dirty they can't spark which ignites the petrol. Another thing to try is replacing the HT leads and plugs(only if it is a petrol engine).
The galaxy is basically a v w sharan with different badges and what you describe suonds like an immobiliser fault.Start with making sure the battery in key fob is ok.If no fault codes are present in ECU then possible a body control unit is faulty.
