How do I check my transmition fluid (and fill it) in a vauxhall astra 17TD think it is the isuzu enjin.?

My clutch is struggling when the car is hot - my very limited diagnosis is that the fluid is low as the luberacating qualities decreas the warmer it gets?

Answers:

well i could tell you how to check the fluid level but it will do you no good. the fluid only lubes the gears in the box not the clutch. the clutch is a dry unit. is the revving up and going nowhere or is it not pulling very well. if its the first its probably the clutch is knackered - if its the second it could be any number of things but more than likely not the clutch.
sounds like your clutch is on its way out
You obviously know as much about cars as my a** knows about snipe shooting.

Take it to a garage and price a new clutch.
You will have to dipsticks on an auto, the one marked trans and going into the gearbox. there will be 2 levels hot and cold. easy to work out which to look at, you also fill down the dip tube, the oil comes with a long nozel- geerbox-90(auto).
But it does sound like your clutch is fubar.
check the manual
Its nothing to do with oil levels i would say your clutch needs looking at
