How do I get my car cd/radio out (cdr 500) so I can replace with a new one?

There is usually two holes either side that you insert a key (metal clip) to release the lugs holding it in.
You need to get hold of some metal U bend thingies, not exactly sure what they're called, but you'll have four holes (two on either side of the radio) and U pop these metal things in both sides and push to release the radio from the casing!
You could however get a metal coathanger, cut it up and bend it round to place in the holes!!

I've got a CDR500 - they're not too easy to get out! You will need the metal removing rods that the others have mentioned - you can buy them in Halfords for a couple of quid. If you have any difficulties, then it could be that the set is stuck in the frame - just pull a bit harder. Good luck.
Put the pins in the holes then pull, if that doesnt work, pull and bend them outwards at the same time, thatll do it.
take it to Manchester or London someone may remove it for you free of charge may need a new window though
you could always use Allan keys if you haven't got the removal tools put 4 in and it should come straight out
just like joe said to little holes either side you have special keys that insert then you pull it out in an ideal world. dunno what car you got but if that dont work then unscrew that part of the centre console if you can then push it out
