What is this shaking and rubbing sound coming from my car?
Answers:
There's a problem with your suspension. Or there's something jammed up in behind the wheel.
Any minor bumps and the wheel is hitting something making a scraping noise and taking off tread.
It could be something as simple as the wheel arch liner has come loose and is fouling the wheel, but you need to get the wheel off and ave a look.
CV Boots and wheel bearings won't effect tyre tread. An out of alignment wheel or something rubbing will however.
Get yourself into Kwik Fit (or similar) and ask them to have a look. They'll probably do it for free.
You wanking!?!
Have your wheel bearings check out.
It could be the brake pad on the wheel, but to know with any kind o certainty you have to take it to a mechanic
you need some new brakes and new rotors..and you need to check your alignment too..and check your rack and pinion gear..and your axles and your boots..it could be one or more of these problems.
it's likely to be off centered.
the noises you hear during the bumps are probably due to a lousy spring/shock set up..i don't think your bushings are going out but you should get those checked out in any case.
sounds like wheel bearings and maybe cv boots. go get it fixed as it will only get worse. shaking under breaking is probably due to your wheels not being balanced. get yourself to a garage you're probably looking at a couple of hundred quid.
Get professional help before you have a fatal accident. You are driving a lethal weapon if it's not maintained properly, or is defective. Your insurance will also be null and void in an accident, too.
are the wheel nuts done up tightly? if not wheel bearings
someone having sex in the boot
Sounds like your shocks have gone
Bearings.
Could be the cv boots, mine went on my golf and caused same sort of symptoms. Get it checked asap.
It sounds like your front CV joint is going. The best way to tell is to drive slowly around in a circle at full lock. If you get a click, click, click you have a problem. Under braking you are also suffering from the same problem
it has to be the suspension.the rota arm is to do with the spark plug system?
could be the bearings
i suggest you go to technitian for reasonable service
get someone to check out your lower arm suspension bushes. made me laugh with people saying cv boot- the cv boot is just a piece of rubber that covers and protects the cv joint- all it does is stop dirt getting into and grease getting out of the cv joint, and besides i doubt that would have gone on a car that not very old.
It sounds like your right front wishbone / arm rear bush has gone, I have experience with Skoda Octavias which are a similar set up and have repaired quite a few of these bushes and they can cause severe brake shuddering. Good luck.
I thing your car may have been in an accident at some stage.
Do what everyone else has to do and take it to a garage. Golf suspension noises can be. Anti roll bar bushes, anti roll bar drop links, Upper front shock bearings & bushes, Bottom arm bushes,,, The list goes on..
Shock absorbers, front wheel bearings,cv joints or bushes, wheel alignment, wheel balance to mention a few possibilities.
Whatever it is it sounds serious and the car is certainly not fit for the road.
Would suggest you have it checked urgently before you have an accident in it.
