Is the cambelt on a fiesta 1.25 o2 plate toothed and short or is it the 1 that goes around all the pulles?
Answers:
The Cambelt is a toothed belt that connects the crankshaft to the camshaft on the engine, it usually runs under a black plastic cover on the far left hand side of your engine to you cant actually see it moving round when you look at it. It's a fairly involved job to replace taking 3-6 hours to do and usually only needs doing every 50-90 thousand miles depending upon the engine and the manfacturers schedule.
The belt you can see in the engine bay also on the left hand side but in view, running round at least 3-4 pulleys is the auxiluary belt so called as it powers the vehicles auxiluary services such as power steering , air con, and also the alternator to chrage the battery these belts are usually much cheaper to replace, dont have a tooth apperance but have 3 to 6 ribs running allong them to keep them on the pullys, these only take upto and hour or so to replace.
Why don't you check online or in another garage? I have a fiesta 52 but I don't know anything about cars! Sorry I cannot help any further!
