Help jeep grand cherokee has stalled twice on the way home when i was in drive waiting in traffic.?

All good answers to your question.could be the battery, but if it's getting a good charge - the thing that comes to my mind (after owning 91 and 00 Cherokees) both of them had injector problems..after MANY MANY trips to the dealer that all wanted to give me a new transmission until I showed them the warranty - I finally convinced them that the sputtering and loss of power at times was a dirty or inoperative injector(s).turned out on one occasion that two of the injectors were good, but the computer system wasn't allowing them to fire for whatever reason.may not be your problem, but something to check out if it continues.
If you know a good dealer in your area they can put your truck on a diagnostic computer and it should be able to pinpoint what/where the problem is..IF you can convince them - that's the biggie..
was it raining?
crack in distributer cap?
Get a new one!
you might need a new alternator, did you check your fan belt. alternator is my bet most auto parts stores will check it for you for free
sounds like the battery is not holding a charge, have the battery checked check the belts then the alternater, then check the gas
call a mechanic and ask his advice
Have you checked the oil. I think you might need to give it a long run, if the battery was flat 15 miles might not have been enough to give a good going over.
Get a Land Rover Defender then. Useless american vee-hickles. Built out of the cheapest material they could find.
you need to get rid of that American made car and get a German engineered car.plus you've had it for five years and put some miles on it.you need to get a new one..
First off run some injector cleaner through it, then you can ask Auto-Zone or NAPA to look up if your model has a temperature sensor relay on it as that is more likely then not the problem it is reading the car is not hot enough to open up the thermostat, and it creates a air block, vapor block it shuts down th engine and then after awhile it will start back up run for another 15- 20 minutes and do the same thing
Check your fanbelt and alternator as it sounds like your battery is not re-charging. also check that the battery is not dry - top up with distilled water if necessary.
If the jeep is chugging and running erratically, it might need a new timing belt and a full engine service. This will cost around £250+ but will be worth it provided the vehicle has been well serviced to date.
Get a diagnostic test readout on the engine management computer.
Could be program corruption after flat battery.
ran out of petrol
You dont say which engine you have. I have a 4.0 Ltr Mine started doing the same thing. Turned out to be the Crankshaft Position Sensor. ( An AA Patrolman reckoned it was the immobilliser ! Only about £400 difference !)
