Occasional 'won't start' problem. Engine turns over easily but does not fire or revs simply die & cuts out. Eventually will start but it is not doing battery much good. Problem normally first thing in morning, but no obvious link with wet or cold mornings. Any Ideas?

You probably have a key reader fault the key has 2 very precise resistors in it when you insert the key into the ignition switch these must have a precise reading that your key reader can understand. If you have a high or low resistance in the key reader wiring this will give you that fault.I had an Audi that uses the same type of key reader it was in a connection under the steering wheel nacelle. Its a common fault with Audi vw and skoda
