I need to remove my locking wheel nut bolts of my Corsa SXi 54 Plate Car as lost key and security code?
Answers:
you can take it to the dealer and get a better deal.
drill them off yourself or get a wheel brace and put it over the locks and jump on it and they should break off
i had problem like this before and had 4 locking nuts lol i hammered them all off and what a job that was it works and saves you loadsa money too
Take it to Merseyside.
Some scally will have the wheels off in ten minutes
where do u stay and al be over to blag em
Maybe things are different on that side of the Atlantic, but I had the same problem;
If you have a friend with an "air gun" ,or impact wrench, place a chisel bit on the end that just fits in the key enough and give it a spin.
Worse case, take a hammer and chisel to it.
It doesnt take that long and its pretty easy.Thats way too much to pay for a short , easy job!
One way to do it is get an old socket a little smaller than the bolt head.
Hammer it on so its a tight fit. If your carefull you should be able to undo the bolts.
And it shouldn't damage the bolts.
There are special sockets that are designed to remove locking wheel nuts with the minimum of damge. Someone like Sealey or Draper do them, and they are used a lot in the motor trade as many people lose their locking wheelnut keys. Go to a good motor factor, such as Partco, and ask about them, and next time, give people like KwikFit a miss.
get a 6 point impact socket that will roughly fit over the nut and hammer it on. if its cheap nuts it should come off no probs. drilling it might be too lengthy a process to do your self plus you run the risk of damaging the wheel. i dont think you could chisel it out as the nuts should be recessed in if it is an alloy wheel. if for some strange reason some one has put lock nuts on a steely chisel away! good luck.
try welding another nut to it and using that for leverage works for me
take one chisel, on large lump hammer, place chisel on nut and apply hammer to it with great vigour! quick and painless if you dont hit your fingers!
no way 250.Go to non dealer garages for prices l do this job a lot for various dealers and the most l have charged is 160.You will probably find the dealer uses company to do job for them and then adds a huge amount.See who is in your area
