How do i make biodiesel for my own use?

Answers:
I read in an old National geographic about a guy in California who collected all the old frying oil from restaurants and used that as fuel. He had to put it thru a filter first, but that was about it. I believe the filtering of all these types of fuels is the important thing. I have a VW Sharan and run it problem free on rapeseed oil.
Oh, I forgot the first time, you will need a field to grow the rape in and a farmer to plough and plant and harvest it for you. Try forming a sydicate like some people here (D) have done. You will have to pay tax to the govt..
I think the above answer is quite right. Why grow your own when you could recycle? If you must to it yourself however, research how to press oil from various grains and other farm produce. Possible crops are soya, corn or sunflower. But unless you are a farmer yourself, you may be surprised on how much you will have to grow to fuel the family motor!
bio-diesel is made out of recycled cooking oil just remember to let it cool down and bottle it ready for use in your car or mini van, but first make sure your vehicle is converted to use bio-diesel
just go straight to your local chip shop tel them to keep some used oil to the side 4 u filter it put it in your tank and your away i have bin doin it 4 the past 10 months in the same car no problem
Go see your local curry house and take aways and get as much used cooking oil as you can and filter it all off, add a tiny amount off white spirit and make sure the engine will run on it and bobs ya uncle ! But do not 4get to tell the Customs and Excise cos theres duty to pay, if ya dont you'll get a KNOCK !
I have a recipe for diesel. It's not exactly a bio fuel, but it costs about a third the price of regular diesel.
You will need:

A 25 litre oil drum.
A funnel
Ideally a small electric pump, the sort you can attach to a drill to drain ponds etc About £25.

Ingredients:
20 litres of central heating oil. You can find suppliers in the yellow pages.
5 litres of clean vegetable oil. (the cheapest works fine.)
A bottle of redex.

Method:
Mix the central heating oil and veg oil in the drum. Then add a cup full of redex. Mix well.

And that's it! I've used this fuel in vans and cars, and they run just fine, the van actually runs better on it. There are tax issues involved in using alternative fuels, but basically who's going know?
why do you want to make bio diesel for? it has to match the seals on the fuel system just any bio diesel will rot the seals in the injector pump and the injectors and the diesel fuel system is lubricated by its own fuel its like putting home made oil in your car engine not a good idea hope this advice does not fall on deaf ears
