Ford 6006e button, security panel won't stay in properly?
The security strip / panel won't stay in on my unit. You can sort of get it to stay in (not properly it still sticks out a little) but then if you go over a bump in the road it flies out!
Somehow it doesn't seem to want to click in, i.e. the unit is not be gripping the panel on the left hand side (by the button)
The button also doesn't pop up like it should
Hope you can help!
Answers:
superglue should do the trick its always puzzled me why people bother removing that little panel its got a code anyway
use some wd 40, or lubricant on button, its just not catching.if not buy some velcro pads an us them xx
Thats quite a modern unit, so it might still be under warranty.
Certainly worth popping into your local Ford dealership and asking.
It sounds like a clip is either broken or worn, or there's something stuck in there stopping it from seating properly.
