The screen wash motor seems to have packed in (no noise when activated).?
Answers:
First try running a direct wire to the battery to see if it's the motor or the wiring.
try to see if the motor is even properly connected first them test the motor direct to the battery if the motor works the wires shagged if not get a multimeter to test the wires if they work then u need a new motor french cars and electrics tend to be temperamental
As the motor is attatched to the water resevoir and is usually open to the elements then the motor is more likeley to have packed up! Follow the tube from your jets to locate the motor, then disconnect the wiring plug get a live tester or multimeter attatch the negative to the battery and the poss to the plug and then get someone to press the screenwash button whilst you watch,if the live tester lights this means you have a feed(check other wire if no responce) once youve done this connect the live tester/multimeter to the battery poss and test the earth as this can be faulty too! If when youve done this and you get readings on both wires as described above then the motor is faulty,if you get an incorrect reading then its your wiring.
Dont forget the ignition has to be on to check the live and the button must be depressed or you will get nothing!
take the motor out of the bottle, check the rubber sieve where the bottle goes in as these block up.
put 12 volts to the pump to test if its working and if not buy new one from your local factors
tap it gently with a hammer when switch on they r notorious for
this
Its either the switch mounted to the steering column or the pump.
Ive had both fail on mine. It was the switch first for me(few £'s from scrap yard). they are held in by 2 screws under the plastic trim around the column.
remove 2 screws from the trim take it away remove the screws from the switch wiggle it free. remove the wire block connector from the back of the switch. Refit. The great people on this forum have explained how to check the pump. So good luck
