Motorcycle engine cheap oil leak cure?
The proper way to do it would be to take apart the top end of the ngine and replace all the gaskets and rebuild it. BUt it will cost me £56 in gaskets!!.
So i was wandering if anyone knows of an engine additive that will sealer minor oil leaks, or some old-timer tip that will cure the leak simply.??

Not really it is better to spend the notes and do the job correctly in the first place because in 30 years of wrenching I have never found a shortcut to repairing an oil leak you could check if all the bolts are torqued up correctly but once you get oil between the gasket and mating faces it too late for shortcuts sorry so bite the bullet and tear that motor down spend the cash job done not a bodge that will last until you start the motor up and it is still leaking and it will certainly get worse oil leaks allways do !!!!it also depends if the bike is worth the outlay of course it is getting on a bit now and as I remember it was never a particularly popular model the z 650 was much better
Fix it right
Lucas oil stabilizer. Lucas.com if you cant find it at any parts store or walmart, kmart
there is nothing you can buy in a bottle that will fix your leak correctly, buy the gaskets and spend a day on the engine.
Do the job properly mate. £56 is roughly two gallons of good oil, and you can't beat knowing your bikes sorted properly, the leak may not be bad but it can only get worse over time, then anything can happen. (blown engine/oil on rear tyre crash ect.ect)
stp stop leak
loads of araldite round the base gasket
Sell it quick to someone you dont know
