When i drive my car over 50mph the whole car starts to shake what could be the problem.?

My Car Does That Its The Tracking And The Wheel Bearing There Out So It Makes The Car Shudder As The Wheels Are Not Even But If You Leave It Your Tyers Will Wear The Tread One Way This Happened To My Car And It Fail its M.O.T For It and I had To Have 2 New Tyers
take it back and make them sort it out, is the car old? they should be able to fix it.
u need knew rims or they need to be balanced
Sounds familiar! Have you checked out your tracking and wheel bearing?
Sounds like the tracking is out. Its easy to solve, go to ur local tire place.
you need a front end alignment and have the idler arm checked have the tires cheked for broken belt it is not the tracking or the rotors and it is not the wheel bearing
It can be warped rotors.
bent hub.
bent axle.
or they aren't balancing it for high speeds
it could be the wheel bearings, get the garage to check them, 2 minute job and should be free.
Front end is not aligned or tires are not balanced. could be worse, could be suspention or axle problems too
.my b/f recommends to have the "drive shaft joints" checked out. Both ends! ( Front at the transmission and rear joint at the differential ) Worn joints will cause the "shaft" to bounce wildly. Drive MINIMALY! Str8 to the mechanic. Or have it towed there.
Good luck
shocks with no fluid, so doing very little damping?
care your car to a front end shop for anlignment and ask them to check the front end out for worn parts. example ball joints, a arm bushing, idler arm, pit man arm and wheel bearings.
is it a robin reliant
Tracking, balance, bearings loose nuts. take your pick if someone has had a look at it already kick their backside and tell them to fix it properly
could be worn tires or even the shocks.
if u have gotten yr wheels balanced it could be that u need a front end alignment
Your wheels need to be balenced
try and get them balanced while they are on the car, not a lot of place do this anymore.
i take it the car does not shake if U rev up the engine ?
There are a lot of things that can cause it, some are just annoying some can be dangerous. Since you are asking this question, it's evident you don't do many mechanical
repairs. With this in mind take it to a legitimate garage that will check it out thoroughly. Before you get hurt or hurt someone else! I didn't mean the repairs statement as an insult, it was just a logical conclusion.
Try the prop shaft it may be out of balance trust me on this seen it be for
You don,t mention what type of vehicle you are driving but some vehicles have a steering stabilizer or dampener,it is similar to a shock absorber for your steering system and if they are weak they can cause a symptom like you describe. Jeep vehicles use them and if they go bad you can get a very frightening shimmy at highway speeds. I mention Jeeps because I work at a Chrysler dealership but any vehicle with a similar setup could experience the same condition.
Front end bushings could be bad. Also, tires could be out of round.
It could be a number of things! take it 2 the nearest garage at under 50mph!! get them 2 look at it but it sounds like tracking & wheel balancing or buckled wheel.
The car itself is out of Aline
You make have hit something and the undercarriage is out of a line.
Sometimes you can tell this by sitting on a flat surface and turning your headlights on and seeing if they are together in a line or not.
Steering wheel when you let go goes to the right or left.
Another words just having your tires balanced in not answer
Go to a shop like a Pep Boys and have them check it then if they say yes you are out of Aline SHOP around for a shop that will do the work ...
Tracking and or wheel balancing, wont cost a lot at a tyre fitterrs probably under £20..worst case scenario is propshaft but I doubt it very much.
Can only be your wheels. Go to a well known tyre centre. Get It checked before you have an accident.
IF it [STARTS] @ 50mph U could have water in the Tires.Did it start after your tires were mounted? {Alignment} {Air Pressure}will cause tire wear.A Bad Dampener Shock on the Front Steering will cause a wobble {like was a previous answer} (back&forth on the steering wheel) U Joints will cause a Vibration, butt U should feel it get worse as U accelerate from about 20mph on.Laderal runout on the tires can cause said problem like impropper balance.Seperated tire.IF its front wheel drive a very bad CV Joint will cause said problem.Have seen a broken Transmission Mount cause it.etc.etc.Bad shocks will cause the Vehicle to (float) not keep the tires on the ground.
Perhaps you need smoother roads in your neck of the woods.?
check for an out of shape tyre, failing that something is very worn like a ball joint/track rod end/steering rack.
also check the hub nuts are tight.
have your struts checked and make sure your tires are the same kind and in good shape
it may be some problem with the tires or the rims, most of the time when you are parking and you don't calculate the space of your tire with the cement you hit your tires, that kind of hit causes the tire bad formation and loses the form a little bit, when you drive slow the problem is gone but when you go faster the problem is bigger, the same thing happens when your rims are to old or in a bad condition you should take the car to the shop, and ask for a revision of tires not just a balanced service some alignment should be done
