Alfa Romeo 156 2 button Key?

Hi All. I have just been informed that the 2 button key with LED light, cannot be reprogrammed, and that the car is reprogrammed.
Is this true?

Well I used to drive the Selespeed, and wonder why do you wish to reprogram a key?? if you lose one you have to buy a replacement from Alfa, quoting the key ref number, it is programmed in during assembly.

There is an Alfa news group alt.autos.alfa-romeo try connecting to them, they have lots of really knowledgable people in there.

To get access to a news group either use your Outlook Express and go to ACCOUNTS - NEW - Newsgroup and then use "news.ISP.com" as the access point (ISP = your own isp - eg; 'mediacom') or use a news reader such as Forte's 'Agent' - there are over 65,000 newsgroups - so use the search facility with the words ALFA, or ALFA-ROMEO in it
