Does anyone know if its an instant ban when going over 100mph??
Answers:
Depends where you live. In the UK there is no such thing as an automatic ban for speeding, but other factors such as careless driving, driving without due care and attention may well get added on to bump up the points. Collect enough of those (13) and bye bye licence. Course, you may not be in the UK, in which case other laws will apply. Best advice, get a good lawyer.
That usually depends on your local laws. I know in Wisconsin it's not an instant ban unless you've gone over the point limit for your license.
yes, may get a further punishment too ie prison.
sorry for the bad news but its a court job.
It certainly is unless there is a real life or death emergency!
Try making something up.
Huh? Ban ? It's going to be a nice fat ticket, and could increase your insurance rate too.
In the UK it's almost a certainty. You married an idiot who doesn't care for his family or anybody else. I've no doubt he has plenty of points on his license for the same offence. Shouldn't be on the road if he abuses the system.
yea if caught going over 100 mph on the public roads it is an instant ban and the term of the ban would be up to cps (crown prosecution service)
Misdemeanor reckless driving and public nuisance. GET A LAWYER! Otherwise he is so screwed. You want to go over a hundred, go check out the local race tracks/clubs, as they have track days and cars for that purpose, and it costs a whole lot less than the ticket and a lawyer and the insurance and the taxi cab rides etc etc.
With the information you have given, it's impossible to answer. Some states have laws that will take a license on the spot if you are going over 100, are you in one of those states?
Was this on a surface street? Was this in a school zone? Or was this on the interstate with a speed limit of 70? It makes a difference. The only answer I can give you is "I don't know".
In the UK it's usually a mandatary ban unless you can afford a really good lawer
I often drive at 100mph+ on the motorway and I have never been caught. I recon it is an instant ban. But I don,t care as I have not ever been caught.
It will be a ban but not for a whole year. possibly only 28 days plus a whopping great fine.
in the UK I am afraid unless he has a very good excuse for it then it is an instant ban and a heavy fine/ imprisonment ( depending on history of offending and previous convictions. )
Yes I'm afraid so.
If he's a premiership footballer he should be alright.
In the UK yes it is instant after court.
yesit is a ban for up to one year ore three depending if you drov e dangerasly
Well I got clocked at 3am on a near empty motorway in the Lake district doing 110mph. I got called to court (wasnt allowed to do it by post) had to go to Carlisle from London! Got £200 fine and 6 points cos I said that I would lose my job if I lost my car. (true)
So, yes probably he will! I reckon the judge was having a good day!
In the UK that is usually the result unless there are very extenuating circumstances. I don't think it is automatic though.
If he's a UK resident, because of the speed (I'm assuming he was speeding on a motorway or dual carriageway) he'll be summoned to a magistrates court to account for the offence. Unless he's got a celebrity lawyer, he'll almost certainly get a ban.
If it was on a road with a speed limit of less than 70 mph, he's in even more serious trouble.. Sorry.
On a push-bike, then a definite ban. Was the wind behind him ?
I hope so.
Try visiting www.beat that ticket.com you should find some pretty useful stuff on the site
get yourself some legal advice could be the difference between a fine and points or a ban. Unless your husband is a copper the court will try and make out he's worse than all the drink drivers and murderers!
unless you are a serving police officer using the excuse ' I just wanted to see what the car can do' then yes it's a ban. Tell your husband to try that one - the cops are not above the law.
more than 30 Mph over the speed limit generally results in a ban in the UK.
If you are in the UK then No. I was caught doing 106mph and received 6 points and a fine.
It was.nt for that copper a few months ago speeding in Derbyshire 100 mph
