Can a bulit in cassette player from a car come out and be replaced with a cd player?
Answers:
You dont say where you live but if it is in the uk as much as it pains me to say it as they are expensive you can get a converter kit for the wiring from Halfords and also the blanking plate, also ford also do a blanking plate as the size of the radio is sometimes twice the size of a normal cd. Also whatever you picsk make sure the speakers can handle the power most manufacturers standard installations are not as powerful as the after market ones available
yes. It happens all the time.
yes you can
wiring harness and instalation kit will make the swap much easier!
yeah you can replace it. they make kits to make up for the size difference so it won't look funny or anything either. Best buy is a great place to check out for getting it installed also. good luck!
yes. just take it out
Yes! But, it will cost a lot. because of the size.
yes. if the whole is big enough. you'll need the correct wires too connect your cd player though
Yes you can replace the cassette with a CD player, but you need to be more specific. What model do you have?
That is what is called a double din radio (two times the height of a normal radio) and yes you can have it replaced at Ford (high cost) or go to Best Buy or Circuit City or any store like that and with a purchase of $100 or more they usually install for free. It will take them 1 to 2 hours so be ready to leave the car or plan on waiting for that time. They have double din radios and kits that fill in the opening if you go with a regular radio.
Good Luck
you can directly replace it with the ford equivalent cd player, which you'll get from the main dealer and pay a fortune or i'd try ebay. you could also buy a blanking plate and a cd player. the tape decks in fords are really large, twice the size of normal, and that's why you need the blanking plate to fill in half the space and then the standard size cd player stacks on top of it.ie kenwood, pioneer or any other decent manufacturer. as mentioned before the ford cd player is the same size as the tape so would go straight in, hope this helps
Yes, you can replace the cassette.
For the best results find a "good" responsible audio shop in your area to do the swap.
Don't let just anyone do the job. Sometimes it's just better to let a pro handle the job. They make swap kits for many cars and trucks to fit perfect in your ride!
Make sure that you get a written copy from the audio guys that perform this job stating that they will fix any problem that they may cause if they do something wrong! Like insurance.. Hope this helps.
just buy any cd player and get the face plate to fill in the gap
yes u sure can change the audio system as the manufacturer would have made the car with these changes in mind and it won't spoil the car interiors as most audio systems have different colours.take care and go on to choose a cool cd player but be sure of the colour as it should suit with the interiors
if its a ford tarus take it somewhere to get it done if you choose to doit yourself you will regret it about 2 hours in in most cars all of the stereo connections are in the dash in the taurus they are all in the trunk and most dash kits and wire harnesses together will cost about 25 dollars with the taurus it will cost about 150 to 200
I'ld change the car first....
ye sit can be replaced without that much expense, you need a wiring loom and a dash surround (that fills the gap in dashboard) try somewhere like halfords they do free fitting on most CD players or a car audio shop don't go ford. good luck
you can replace it with a normal sized cd player and buy a plate for the centre console that covers where the larger ford stereo has been, plates can be got from ebay or Halfords for around £10
