Call the police: report the incident.they can then find the details!
You can obtain that information off the police report.

Report it to the police, get an incident number and give this to your insurance company. The insurance company and the police will sort it out for you.
The police will do a check and your car insurance company will definately do a very broad check to see if the vehicle is insured.
