I need to fit a car stereo to my Escort. is it easy to do myself? how?
Answers:
it should just clip in what year is your escort
TAKE IT TO BEST BUY AND THEY WILL DO IT FOR YOU. ITS NOT HARD BUT IT MAY TAKE A COUPLE HOURS FOR YOU TO DO YOURSELF
Ask somebody to help you, read the instructions.
fitting it in is not the hard part, finding the wires you need to connect to is the problem. all car makers assume that you will buy the sound system with the car, and if not, it is no small chore
well are you able to do it that's the number one thing you need to asks you'll self that and another you well save some money if you do it's not heard don't know much about cars but drive them
go to crutchfield.com
they usually have the info you need regarding your vehicle..especially speaker locations--dashboard opening dimensions (especially depth) you dont wanna get a radio that is too deep and ends up sticking halfway out of the dash..

The kit cost 50$ And then you need a special tool to remove the old one. You can buy it or you can do what i did and go to the dealership and if there cool they will do it for no cost.
It all depends on what year Escort you have. Some of the newer Escorts are more difficult as you need to remove the climate controls and rear defroster to integrate them into the installation kit. Be prepared to spend around $50+ for this installation kit. If it is an older model Escort, the installation is pretty easy as long as you use a wiring harness.
You need a set of ford removal keys to remove the ford set then depending on whether the set is a single or double din fit you will need a relevant loom plug and fascia piece, then its all just plug in
buy an install kit from scoche
