I hope this helps.
squeeky brakes are caused by dust from the pads. nothing to worry about. dust will go. :)
could be that they need to be changed or that they are dirty, either way take it to the shop and it is an easy fix and very cheap as well. my sister is a mechanic, so she knows these things, and i know too.
get new brake pads put on ,minor job really
The previous owner only changed the brake pads and not the brake rotors last time they had their brakes done. As with Mercedes, whenever you get a brake job done on a Peugeot you have to replace the brake rotors (disks) other wise they squeak like something is wrong with the car. The think which is funny about this is that, when ever you pull to a stop, people look at you because your car makes funny noises.
nowt to worry bout mate
Have some one remove all four wheel tire assemblys and show you the brake pad material. if there is a slot visiable on each pad you have time to shop around for good quality pad material and service centers. If the pad materal is 1/32 inch and the wear indicator squeelers are the squeeking you need to act fast. Allowing pads to wear to metal really messes up the rotors to the point the rotor cannot be refinished. Machined below minium thickness any good technician knows or can find the specification.
i own a repair shop,,and i can probably help,,i have worked on a few of them,,there nice little rides,,the brakes may be getting worn down some,,you can have one of the wheels pulled off of it,and have the brakes checked,,it may just need brake pads on it for now,,there pretty good about not wearing brakes out, i have a customer who has one ,,and his usually last around 2 years for him,,and he drives it a lot,,you also have one of the newer body style ones, and there better designed for handling and performance, the brakes part is fairly easy to fix ,,the pads are just held on by little pins, and are easy to replace on them,,id have it done though, and make sure if it needs it that they turn the rotors on it,,this is important for long brake life on it,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s
if the pads haven't been replaced lately, replace them, and see if that solves the problem. It's one of the simpler jobs, though just give it to your mechanic if you're not confident enough yourself.
Squeaky brakes is usually an easy fix, it could be as simple as taking the pads out and cleaning the disk with brake cleaner and wipe the dust off the pads with a clean cloth. On refitting the pads rub a little copper grease which has a high melting point on the back of the pads and a little on the metal shim pad if there is one. Make sure you don't get the grease on the pads braking surface and don't use any other type of grease. If your car has done a lot of miles it could either be that the disks and or pads are worn out, but if your car is low mileage and is serviced properly then it will likly to just need recleaning and a spot of copper grease.
you need new brake pads go to a quick fit shop cheap quick and easy.
When was it last serviced? Did that last service include a full brake inspection. If not, get one done. May just be dirt and dust in the pads and discs on the front / shoes and drums on the rear, maybe the pads/shoes have worn-out. Get it assessed by someone who knows what they are doing.
Are you sure it is the brakes and not a loose fan belt that is causing the squeak . this is easy to replace.
Brake pads have wear indicator when they get low they will make that noise to let you know you only have a little while before they will go metal to metal with the rotors, but dust build up can do it as well you need them checked. easy to fix if you have the right tools. Being 3yrs old be due for pads.
its a build up of dust
