When will airlines give more leg room?
I am over 6' so getting a seat where my legs are in a space only just long enough .
Surely as people are getting taller it is about time that they removed a few seats to make a bit more leg room.

I'd suggest getting the aisle seat, as you can put your feet into the aisle.
But with those new Airbuses, everything will be so much comfier, with more room in the seats and armrests.

You could pay a bit more and fly premium economy or a lot more and fly business or an enormous amount more and fly first.

But seriously, the airlines are in the business of making money. So they need to put as many people on planes as possible. If you need more room, sit in the exit row, the galley row (the row where there's no seat in front of you), or cough up the bucks and get business/first class.
some airlines offer economy rows with extra room (i.e. United's Economy Plus) but that's about it.
Cheap flights mean being cramped, but it must be worse for the larger figure.

Plus, usually larger airplanes are used when flying more distant trips so they are more roomey, unlike short-haul flights such as a 2-3 hours flights, which are usually flown by southwest, jet blue, and america west. You wouldn't really need leg room because it is a shorter flight.
The new airbus a380's will probably allow for more room and virgin might give a little.

With all due respect to "nerris12", it is not the airplane, it is the Airline who dictates the specs to the Airplane Maker in how they want the seating arrangement.
Boeing, airbus would be more than happy to build a Jumbo with one seat and if the Airline wants it, they will build it.
It's called business class (or first). Also recall that American Airlines tried removing seats. That did not spread to other airlines.
The "Sardine Seating" method will end after a flight attendant, pilot, or passenger is killed by a disgruntled, passenger, who went "berserk" because they could not stretch their legs! This will probably have to happen several times before the airlines "get it", or they are forced to by government regulations. Left to themselves, they are a bunch of "cheap-asses", who don't care about the comfort of those in economy class. They must think that everyone is the same length and width. It is also another method to try and force the passenger to pay the "outrageous prices" for a business or first class seat.
No, airlines do not. I dont think you understand that the airliner costs tens of millions of dollars, and it costs $50 per hour per passenger for fuel alone, then factor in the montly payment the company makes and how much it pays its people, and you find out that airlines are nothing but jobs, they are not money making machines. they do it because they like to fly, and if you want them to sacrifice seats for extra room, your gonna need to pay for that.
Airlines are services provided by flight enthusiasts who put their souls into the company just for you guys to come back and compain about stupid stuff like weather delays and leg room. I bet you'd love it if one day the airlines just said "enough" and you had to take a 2 day train to florida next time.
Oh, and by the way, the airlines do get it. Its called 1st class. For all financial reasons, the 1st class pays for the whole flight if it pays for any of it. They are the only people that pay airlines for the service that they are providing.
Your $99 coach ticket to florida costs the airline $150, the only reason they allow that is because if you didnt fly, they'd be out the whole $250.
i heard that the airbus A380 might have a little more leg room considering it is 55% bigger than the Boeing 747, i would have to step into it to make sure though
