Central locking question?
Answers:
It really depends how good you are with cars and how much time and effort (and money) you're willing to commit.
if your car has a decent alarm (activated by remote) that will usually have a connection to control central locking. I'm sure you can buy generic motors to attach to the mechanism, but it will be a lot cheaper to find some in a 306 that had them as standard in a scrap-yard or breakers yard - that could take some trolling around though.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about, leave it alone or take it to a garage and ask them to do it for you. (You'll probably pay an arm & leg for it though).
For the sake of all that carry on, it may be easier to trade up to a car that has it as standard!
sorry pal you need a garage
easiest way would be to buy an alarm system that includes that function. failing that, and if you like wiring jobs, would be to look thru 306 wiring diagrams and see if you could remove the system from a later/higher spec 306 and retro fit to yours, but i imagine an alarm would be far easier
The only way you can get remote central locking is to by an alarm that incorporates it.
yeah, i brought 1 off ebay, it included everythin u need 2 set it up. it's dead easy and works great. they work with virtually any car that has central locking.
For what it would cost you to do I think in my opinion you are best sticking with the key
Clifford, toad and such like will fit an alarm that will allow you to lock your doors from the fob (if your model has central locking), they are thatcham approved which will save you money on your insurance. They fit them for you at home or at work. gap security give you £200 cash back if your cars stolen too. The only down fall is they are around £250.
