How do you dry out a headlight?

yes slowly slide a Cotton rope or string inside the light until it is full or rope then pull the rope out to dry this may take more than one application ,but i guarantee it will work do not put flammable chemicals in an electrical area

whether or not you can find a way to dry it out you will ultimatly need to change that headlamp before it shorts something out. Headlamps are supossed to be sealed and if you are getting moisture in them there is something wrong
almost any water soluable high volatility solvent should work
acetone (same as finger nail polish remover), methanol, ethanol
it seems like if you can get a solvent in, you could also get air flow through and that would do just as well or better
try using a vacuum to suck the water out.
Unfortunately, car makers were stupid in not letting you take out the lens in your headlight. The best thing that I have found to work is drilling a few small holes in the bottom of the lens (tiny). That way it will let excess water leak out of the lens and while you are driving, it lets air circulate within the area. Important- use a small bit and di not hold too much pressure on it. If it is plastic, you shouldnt have too much trouble. If it is glass, make sure to get a bit designed for drilling into glass.
Sorry, I am afraid we can't, I have this problem too, already check with a few workshops. only way was dry under the sun, when it dry, dismantle and silicon it, some kind of silicon which not very obvious.

An old service trick is to just turn on the headlights. They will need to be on for a few hours so start the car periodically to make sure you battery doesn't drain.
hit the headlight with a big hammer!!!!! then install a new headlight because the one that had moisture in it. is going to not last long anyway and a headlight is much cheaper than a DWI.
also was this car in a flood. maybe easier to just get rid of the car!
Use your air compressor and blow-gun tip. But find out where the water is going so you can seal it. Save your pennies and buy a new housing before it blows the element. Don't Don't put any kind of solvent or gas into the housing or you will have a IED when you turn on your headlights for the first time. Even a small amount of flammable vapor in a closed vessel like this will make a bomb!
If you have moisture contamination within the light unit its better you replace the whole thing, it cant be expensive
all bulbs out then blow it out with an airline, it'll clear it up enough to pass an mot, but only cure is replacement.
two things, if the back is open, or there is a chip in the glass then U will never get rid of it, U will need a new one, U can open up the back, like Ur removing the bulb, and just leave the lights on, as those bulbs can get up to 400 Celsius, i really wouldn't try a hot air gun tho, unless U start along way from the light, and move it closer slowly, as the heat may crack the glass, also the heat may get conducted though the glass and melt any plastic around that area, like bumpers etc
