Second amp?

I have got a 1000 watt amp and 1000 watt sub fitted but also gonna fit second amp to power front speakers. will this be taking to much power from the standard car battery, also have sat nav and dvd player in car. should i be upgrading to a better battery? the shops will say yes anyway just to sell one. any advice?

the other answers you received are partially correct. I was a certified master car audio installer, so maybe, this will help. The major concern you have is amperage draw and the design of your amp will determine this. you need to first find out if it is a high current amp, which you should easily be able to do, either by it's own literature or where you bought it.( by the way, your nav and dvd are minimal current draw, so they won't matter). Then find out the current capabilities of your present battery.(if it is an older battery-more than 2.5 to 3 years) then replace it anyway. You will need to find out the charging capacity of your alternator(90-110 amps probably too small 120+, probably good enough), If the new amp, plus the 1000 watt amp doesn't draw more current than your alternator can supply, then you will be cool. this is the short explanation, hope it helps.
you need a caravan battery. That sort of stuff will suck the life out of a standard car battery
Not only will you need to upgrade your batter you will need to upgrade you alternator to a higher charging current to compensate for the load on the battery
Yes you will need a bigger battery or there is also a performance alternator you can purchase. Some people add a secondary battery source just for their stereo components.
You have to look at the total current draw of both amplifiers. Simply look at the fuses on the amplifier, add them all together, and see what your total is. If your total is more than 100 amperes, I would recommend a second battery. If your vehicle has all factory installed options (power windows, power locks, cruise control, A/C, sunroof, etc.) if your total of all fuses on your amplifiers is more than 75 amperes, I would recommend a second battery.

Most vehicles electrical systems will handle a small addition, but when you start adding multiple items, your factory electrical system was not designed to handle it sufficiently.
You need a higher output alternator you can get all the batteries you want if you dont have something strong enough to quickly charge them its not going to do much but trash your electrical system and burn up the alternator that you already have cause its gonna have to work its *** off to just to keep your car on
150A alternator And a bigger battery
i have 3 12" 1000 watt pioneers, a tv, a dvd changer and 2 1200 watt power acoustic amps. and h.i.d.'s to take care of buisness i installed a optima battery and a 4 farad power capacitor and i havent had a problem yet
