I take my driving test Friday. Any tips?

And is it true that you cant be no more than a foot away from the curb when you do your reverse parking etc and that if you hit a curb it's all over?

Answers:
Above all be calm and relaxed. Dont go onto the test centre too confident as the examiner will judge you there and then just be polite and try not to be nervous. If you have a driving instructor you will have a 1hrs lesson directly before your test. Use this time to ask any questions no matter how small. If you have a bad lesson dont panic - i had the worst lesson of my life just before my test due to nerves and passed first time. If your not taking an instructor with you then still go out for a good drive getting to the test in plenty of time allowing for last minute toilet stop along the route. As for reversing some examiners will give you a life line if they think your a good driver but are having a little difficulty and will usually say something like have you finished your manouvre or would you like to correct that etc. before you answer have a good look at where you have ended up and decide accordingly, obviously you wont do it again but a slight adjustment could help you. Also remember to use mirrors in pairs and look in the direction you are travelling glancing round to check for other road users/pedestrians
stay calm don't panic.
Practice, get a good hour or two behind the wheel before hand and you'll be confident.
YES ONLY ONE GO IN WITH THE ATTITUDE THAT YOU ARE GOING TO FAIL AND YOU WILL PASS THATS WHAT I DID OVER 30 YEARS AGO STILL REMEMBER AS IF IT WERE YESTERDAY. BY THE WAY GOOD LUCK
They let you try again, depending on the instructor. If you have no other major problem, you should be fine.
Just relax, and look through all mirrors.
Worry all you want before you get there. Once you get out of your car to walk into the building, force yourself to relax. Be relaxed and calm and try your best to take everything in stride.

Yes, you should be within a foot of the curb when parking. I don't know what state or country you're in, but where I took mine, one bump of a curb did not spell doom.
I THINK YOU SHOULD BE STUDYING THE DRIVERS HAND BOOK IN YOUR STATE THAT YOU LIVE IN. EVERYONE HAS AN ANSWER BUT THE BOOK HAS THE ANSWER THAT THE MOTOR VEHICICLE DEPT ARE LOOKING FOR. GOOD LUCK AND THE MOST IMJPORTANT THING IS TO REMAIN CALM AND REMEMBER IF YOU DON'T MAKE IT THIS TIME YOU CAN DO IT AGAIN.
dont fail
Study, get plenty of practice and stay calm during the test.
Stay calm
Yep if you are more than a foo from the curb you are not parked. If you hit the curb you did not park. You get one sho playboy. My best avice for you is do not honk at girls
Drive like you are driving you Grandmother
Not like Phillipe Massa in the Chinese Grand Prix
Try to take your time and stay calm. If you make a mistake don't panic, it's not over till the end.

Yes you must not be more than a foot away from the kerb when you do your reverse park, but you have plenty of time to do it, and the manouvre isn't over until you put your hand brake on.

Hitting a kerb is a minor fault, riding up onto the kerb is a fail.
Yes you must be no more than a foot from the curb, if you do bump the curb show that you are aware of it, grimace or apologise - I did that and got away with it anyway. My main tip would be that you should make sure that the examiner can see that you are looking into the mirrors. Don't just glance but make sure you actually turn your head, lean forward and back etc. I know that sounds silly but if you don't they can say that you didn't look!
Good luck.
Uh yeah I failed mine twice already cuz I didn't look around too well, make sure, double check before there aren't any civilians walking towards the crosswalk, best is if you show your examiner that you know what you're doing, be calm. Calmness is the key, its not that hard to drive. Oh unless you're in London.I'd never drive here :P
Here is a very important tip and one nobody has mentioned to you. Be sure you pee before you take your road test. Why, you ask. Because when any of us are nervous what is the first thing you want to do? Right. So simply go easy on the fluids before you take your test. Believe me, not feeling like you have to pee will be a big psychological load off your shoulders. - C.
yo are allowed 15 mistakes that are minor. 1 big mistake it's over. Hitting kerb is minor one. Take kalms the day before test. Worked for me and i passed 4 months ago first time.
you can fail one but not both tests,, i mean revering and parallel, as long as you do good on the rest,,my advice, hands at 10 and 2 ,,dont listen to the steroe,,no chewing gum,no small talk with tester, when approaching side streets or driveways, either side , turn your entire head to scan the area , also look towards your mirrors frequently by turning your head not jst your eyes, also glance down at your gauges every 8 to 12 seconds,, that may not be required but i had to in tx.i cant stress this enough, exagarate your head movements when looking out the mirrors and looking to side streets, also slow to a stop dont let the tester head or body bob forward,,you should be ok,,good luck
don't stop at a yield unless there is traffic (automatic failure at my local dmv)
