Electric scooters?

hamleys toy shop in London, they are 48.50
Jacky - I just bought an electric scooter for my son's 10th birthday and it was £100. That was the cheapest I found.
For £50 it's either going to be too cheap to be safe, or secondhand.
I was at the M6 services a few weeks ago and they had them there for £39.99.
Might pose a bit of a drive unless you're local though.
Why not try places like Woolworth's- they sell nothing but tat these days so are bound to have offers on anything decent, as they type of customer they attract won't be able to afford without.
What's the legal situation - I know the petrol driven ones are illegal on the road and pavement, no lights etc.
