Which is the better system, SCR or EGR?

I'm interested in the pros and cons of the SCR and EGR systems from a maintainance and operation point of view

Answers:
The Exhaust gas Recirculation (EGR) was one of the efficient methods to control Nox but this EGR has limitation when it comes higher emission norms viz EURO V and EURO VI,in operation point of view its very difficult to control the EGR with diesel particulate filter which in turns requires very complicated strategies moreover for higher emission norms u might need an EGR intercooler which in turn might increase the cost.

The Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) is one of the efficient method in future to meet the stirngent emission norms without sacrificing for power as in the EGR.the present problem with the EGR is the ADBlue solution which is not easily viable to replace,if auto manufactures can find permanent solution to bring down the cost and recharging of ADBlue solution in an effective way then,SCR might me be the future for us to breathe clean air!!!
Both has its pros and cons. You need to be clear about your requirements.
