Answers:
MY dream car is the Chrysler 300. I know I can't afford it but...its hot.
honda civic
What ever ran, and whatever I could imediately afford.

Thats what i bought. Thats what i drove. Until i was old enough to take out a loan on my truck.
Honda Civic - best rating, great suspension, good track record.
I don't have an ideal car ! A car is just a car !
my first car was metro.
easy, Bugatti Veyron
a clunker like a ford escort or honda civic most first cars get wrecked and why wreck a good car.. not saying your a bad driver but there are drivers out there that dont pay a dam bit of attention to what they are doing and can total your cool car
My first car was a Mk3 escort.

I suggest an astra for anyone first car.
a really cheap 1 to avoid regrets if i crash it while still learning
My first car was a Peugeot 205 deisel.
need to be cheep for a first car
a mini.
peugeot 206, preferably a 16v, just incase you get cabin fever.

small, easy handling in comparison to a lot of bigger cars, and pretty cheap for a model that is still sold new
definitely get a car that is at least 5 years old, because in the first you WILL bump into something and/or get a scratch or 2. this way you won't feel so guilty.

after i turned 16 my parents gave me my mother's car, which was about 10 years old BUT they had had it toatlly redone inside and painted outside. within a week i had scratched the paintjob on the side REAL bad, and i felt like a total heel.

we raised 4 daughters and always got them an older car at first. they agree, much less guilt.
well mine is a 106 so. 106
very cheap, very reliable. love it!
something cheap, face it, youre going to bump it a few times, in and out of car parks, too close to the wall etc..so buy a cheap shed..Mk1 fiesta. nothing fancy about them, but theyre as solid as a rock..and a 950 is as cheap as it gets.

use it, abuse it, and throw it away. wait a few years to build up your NCB and then buy a nice car. dont buy a brand new plastic toy, buy a top of the range 2nd hand car, like a VW golf, or whatever takes your fancy. itlllast longer and be built to a better quality than any cheapo malaysian tin box, or a fiat.

and, to get around the horrific insurance rates, look at buying a classic car, like a beetle. my mates lad (17) has a 1967 1303 1600cc VW, for under 350 quid (car cost 275) his older brother has a 1980 mini.which cost around 800 quid to insure.
It depends what you want.

Do you want cheap and reliable?
Something that will make you a better driver?
Do you need a utility vehcile?

A cheap reliable easy to drive car is a peugot 106.

Its resonably fasionable, cheap to maintain, easy to drive.
If you go for the base model it's cheap to buy a 3 year old model.
It's not got ABS or Power steering so it will get you used to "feeling" how the car drives.

It's got good visability, does arund 40+ mpg.
The insurance is cheap.
I would love a 1956 Jaguar XK140 Roadster.I love that car, if not a BMW Z3 I don't like the Z4 the engine dies much more quickly. And back to reality, I wouldn't mind a Mazda X5, smart enough car even if the engine is crap and it doesn't do top speeds.

Bet your shocked that came from a girl!
Renault Clio 1.2 i have at the moment but the car of my dreams is a dodge viper or a Mclaren f1 they would be sweet
fiat punto 1.2/1.2 excellant 1st cars as good on fuel insurance cheep tax and if looked after there actually very good cars!
i had an A reg 1.1 fiesta and i wouldn't pick a different car even if i passed my test again today
i loved that car and cried buckets when it went to the scrapyard in the sky :(
i've been driving 10yrs now and i'd have it back tomorrow!!
well maybe with an automatic choke, that bit was a pain!!
