Which is the worse mistake when filling your fuel tank: a) diesel in a petrol tank b) petrol in a diesel tank?
Answers:
diesel in apetrol tank is worse coz it will pretty much be fucked, you can drain petrol out of a diesel tank then fill it up with diesel and run it hard and it will be fine but it mite smoke for a while but thats it .
both as bad as each other you would need to drain the fule tank
:)
or C) smoking a cigarette while filling your car !
Spillage and getting it all over your hands and clothes not putting it in correctly
How about piss in a martini glass now that's a mistake!
hmmm. Both !!!
Mind you .trying to run your car on cooking oil would be worse !
both!!!
I don't know, but - I'm always amazed people don't make this mistake way more often than they seem to.
I was told but a farmer that it worst if you put petrol in a diesel tank
Petrol in a diesel tank is far worse, because it will ruin the injection system of a modern diesel engine, while the diesel can be drained out of a petrol system without any damage being caused.
Definitely petrol in a diesel.
Petrol in a diesel tank. It will explode when it hits the engine. Saw it first hand
B
neighbour done it to his land rover had to have all new injection system was not cheap
Petrol in a Diesel will kill the glow plugs and turn the engine into nothing as Gasoline explodes and diesel burns. Diesel in a petrol tank at about 70% will still run. I know, I did it in a 1989 Nissan Sentra. It doesn't run optimally, but you can burn it off and keep filling the tank with petrol to even up the mix. Petrol in a diesel tank: DO NOT DRIVE EVEN A FOOT. Diesel in a petrol tank: Keep running the vehicle (poorly) and continuously add more petrol to improve the mix.
you should not be able to get a petrol nozzle into a diesel tank so if you happen to have this happen to you get your head out of your donkey. BOOM BOOM.
Diesel in a petrol tank will smoke like heck, and can do some internal damage. Draining off as much as possible and topping off with the proper fuel should correct the problem, do a little mosquito fogging while it's still smoking.
Petrol in a diesel tank.
Diesel fuel is much more "oily" than petrol, so the diesel injection system is designed to use the fuel as a lubricant.
Petrol will wash away any lubrication, causing metal-to-metal contact. In a modern diesel car (especially one with common-rail or unit-pump direct injection) even a couple of seconds running with petrol in the tank is enough to severely damage the fuel injection system - can cost well over £1000 to repair, as the whole fuel system, injectors etc. may need to be replaced.
whichever on you do you would have to drain out the fuel and replace it with the right one. because it won't help the engine and it will just muck up your car.
neither if you only put a 1/4 or less of the wrong fuel in then just fill up the tank with the correct fuel.. you should be okay.
petrol in the diesel tank is a disaster if you run it and the petrol gets as far as the injector pump all sorts of nasty things will happen if you accidentally put petrol in your diesel car DO NOT START THE ENGINE get the tank drained and refill with diesel
The worst would be petrol in a diesel tank as the petrol will not atomize small enough to pass through the injectors of a diesel and it will blow the tips off the injectors and send them into your engine
Diesel in a Petrol, didn't you see the program on telly a few weeks ago..Top Gear I think it was, they tried it out and the Disel actually ran the same when filled with petro. The same couldn't be said for the petrol car which pretty much blew up!
