Can you fly a kite from an aeroplane window?
Answers:
depends what type of plane it is.
no
depends if you have a death wish!
only as an emergency measure when the engines have failed. Your captain will tell you when to let it loose.
you cant on any plane ive been on
definitly not, please dont consider it, the aeroplane has thick windows for a reason, its called air pressure!.
Even if you were able to open the windows, first the change in pressure would likely suck you right out of the plane. Secondly, the plane is travelling at such speeds that would rip the kite apart. So, no.
It would depend on what kind of plane,,,, If it's a jet. THEN NO! You open a window and you get sucked out..
If it was an old fasioned plane like a bi-plane then it is most likely that you could.
you would get sucked out of the window, so both you and your kite would be flying...hope it is a parachute shaped one
Why would you want to
unless you want to get sucked out. then its your choice.
Should you decide to try it, what sort of flower arrangement would you like for me to put on your grave?
Why would you want to
It is such a vague question that the answer has to be yes. There are planes that can fly slow enough (maybe 80mph) and low enough to actually do this. It would require an elaborate setup to hold you in the plane and quite a kite to achieve this, but sure.its possible.
That kite is going to produce a LOT of drag. You can lessen this with a four string kite that you can fly upwards above the plane and flatten out the wing instead of just dragging it flat behind the plane. It would be a lot easier on the kite and the pilot to just start this whole process from the ground before takeoff than it would be to throw it out the window.
sounds like fun charlie can i come along
WHY?
What a stupid question.
Very unlikely. Maybe if you are flying in a super slow airplane at it's minimal speed such as a Cessna 150, it's possible. But any other plane at all and the kite will drift slowly to the ground flying out of your hands. (And let's not hope they come with it)
The answer is no, not out of a jet.
It is possible out of a Cessna.
Plus, you would have to fly at a low altitude, no less than 8,000 ASL. Otherwise, air pressure will crush your head!
Maybe from a Piper Cub or an old open-cockpit aeroplane.
In England kites are flown from the most amazing windows but I don't think an airplane is one of them. The government flies kites from Westminster that make it all the way to Wapping
From a commercial airliner.No!
From a transport plane which is used to drop paratroopers.YES! but when the plane is at a relatively LOW height.
Wow, what a great question, I think you could, if you were in an aircraft that was flying verrry slow (and there are lots of 'em out there that do!). Just maybe ok it first with the pilot, then try! You will know right away if it will not work, as the kite will just fly away from your string.
Good luck, look around for someone with an old biplane or a ultralight.
Great question!
No, you cant open the window!!
only if you are a silly billy
The answer is No and No..Maybe. If you talking about a small kids kite it would distroy it at any speeds above 20 MPH. So first no.
If your a racist and talking about a Jewish person it could be done but there not very aerodynamic and wont fly very good plus i think they'd be really pissed at you as I would. So no.
Now if you were to take a powered hang-glider or a ultralite and flew it at very slow speeds could be done, but WHY?
Depends on wether your insurance company has written about it. I have never heard of any one doing it. Prob end up dead. Go for it. U would prob b the first.
Well, of course, though it's much more fun if you get out of the window and stand on the wing. The stewardess will be glad to help you. Make sure your porthole is above one of the wings, of course, otherwise you could be in trouble! It can be a little cooler on the wing than inside the cabin, I find, so slip on a woollie before you step out, and don't forget to take a camera for those fabulous photo opportunities. Why not get some of the other passengers to join you, then you can take unforgettable snaps of each other. And formation kite-flying at 500 mph is so much fun!
It would seem not, unless you have a death wish. You could attempt to bungi jump at 35000 feet while holding your kite. Now that would be fun
Commercial aircraft do not have openable windows, so no kites. Small private aircraft do, but they fly much too fast to be able to manage a kite. So, no kites.
