WHy does my coded cd player keep forgetting the settings?

Everytime I turn the engine on I have to reinput my code and redo all my settings. Why is it doing that and what can be done to sort it out? Only recently had it put in.

All cd players when they are supplied come with an iso block on the wires, quite often the red (ignition live) and yellow (perm live) are the oppsite way round to manufactures wiring, this causes the stereo to lose all its memory settings due to it doesnt have a perm live feed to hold its memory, quick simple fix is just unplug the stereo and switch the red and yellow wires in the block around, once you have done this you'll have no more probs.
Your battery is low, you need to get your battery or alternator looked at. Mine does the same if the car stands for a couple of days.
main power wire that is suppose to be hooked up to battery power is hooked to switched power.
there are usually 2 power wires on stereos. 1 red hooks to battery power. 2 yellow hooks to switched power.
hope that helps ya !
the steroeo needs a live feed all the time from the battery. it sounds as if the live is linked to the ignition so the stereo only gets power when you ignition is on. which causes the steroe to lose all the settings as there is no power to uphold the memory.
there is a problem with the installation they are missing power in one wire the memory constant wire or you just have a bad fuse
