What is the fastest road car by top speed at this moment in time?
Answers:
The Buggatti Veyron. That other car you mentioned may have a claimed top speed of 270mph but it hasn't been verfied yet. Until it has the Veyron is still officially the fastest.
There are a great number of cars that have failed to live up to the wild claims made by their manufacturers. The Ferrari F40 for instance was never recorded over 195mph despite claims it could do 202. Same goes for the Pagani Zonda S, which it was claimed could do 220mph. Again I think i'm right in saying it has never been timed over 200mph. So just because the Barabus TKR is claimed to do 270mph doesn't mean it will. The best manufacturers never make claims unless they can back the up. The Italians however have a history of 'willy waving' and frequently overstate a cars performance.
Bugatti Veyron
Top speed 240mph
But they are releasing a model that can do a claimed 270 mph. Not sure why.
Enzo Ferrari is a race car in disguise, the Bugattiis Veyron has 987 hp is diffently one of the fastest. the Mclaren F1 is a million bucks, it's up there too,
You might be right, but how can you really tell, they aren't going to let us take it for a test spin!
Mini
Nissan Skyline
Bugatti Veryon
Buggati Vereon of course. No question there!!
Three cheers for the Bugatti Veyron.
BTW, it is an ELECTRONICALLY LIMITED top speed of 240 mph
How cool is that.
The story goes that no tire manufacturer makes a tire with a speed/load rating high enough to safely move a car that heavy so fast. There are a ton of "Guesses" as to how fast the car really is.
BTW if you don't know, its a V16 Quad-Turbo all-wheel-drive luxury supercar. The BBC show TopGear has an awesome episode about it.
Un-restricted Bugatti Veyron. restricted they only do 254MPH (Only!!), but without limiters they took that car to 281MPH with more power to go, but had to dis-continue the test due to the risk of it trying to take off!!
