High speed invalid buggy question: can they go faster?

Is it possible to get these invalid buggies to go faster than the regulation 5 mph or whatever the figure is?

When I am old and decrepit, I do not want to tooter around slowly, I want run over a few pedestrians and chase the others around Tescos.

Answers:
They will no doubt have a limiter on them, but even if you removed the limiter the power to loaded weight ratio won't be very good as it's only a small electric battery with a heavy adult on it as well as the weight of the actual buggy, so you've wouldn't be able to go much faster no.
The maximum speed limit of a mobile scooter is 8mph
Dude, then u better not be old.. cause if u go faster.. then u will need a lisence. if u can pass it then yea. You can make it about 12-14 km/hr
highway code rule195: Powered vehicles used by disabled people. These small vehicles travel at a maximum speed of 8 mph. On a dual carriageway they MUST have a flashing amber light, but on other roads you may not have that advance warning.
