I have a Fiat punto Y reg that won't start?
Answers:
try new spark plugs, check distributer cap, check all fuses are in right, dnt ever buy a punto again u deserve a smack! lol
Yeah, slice the top off and use it as a skip or wheelbarrow
Its italian,
Its crap
Clean the sparkplugs, try again, no luck then try replacing them.
try spraying all the engine in damp start.p.s. change your garage
may be immobiliser as this cut off the fuel .
but sounds like something with your fuel pump or fuel filter , if its firing lack of fuel at that time would be the only thing .
i had one with same problem it has an electronic ignition and there is a little box that is at the back of the ignition you may call it the ignition cap but it is a little more better than the normal one's every time you turn your key the cap turns over a metal plate inside the box and it can get dirty or coroded try cleaning it otherwise if it dont work the box is dead and will need replacing but it would be cheaper from a scrap yard rather than a dealer.
try wiggling all the wires and checking the connections from the main harness pull it apart and look into the connection it maybe corroded in there.??you may have to take the female part of the connection apart using a very small screwdriver pry off the little plastic cover there are micro connections in there very cheap to replace.good luck
scrap it and buy a decent car
scrap it FIATs are no good stands for Fix It Again Tomorrow had a brava had everything done to it inc a new engine still wouldn work spent £1000 on tryin 2 fix it !!!!!!!!! friends av got punto they hate them SORRY
FIAT = foned in ad' her Toad
IVECO = I Vibrate Everything Comes Off
Same company i think, Still Crap
could be a crank position sensor and they are also prone to the cambelt breaking but usually dont do any damage.
this car does not have a distributor so no point going looking for that.it sounds very like i crank sensor. open the bonnet. look at the engine. on the left hand side you will see a black plastic cover. on top of this you will see two connections. try disconnecting and reconnecting both of them. this may get rid of static build up in the wiring. it worked for me once or twice!
