Can i drive to the mot with no tax,mot or insurance?
Answers:
You must have the booking for the MOT. You must have the car insured If the MOT station is further than 25 miles away you must arrange another method of transport for the vehicle.
Not sure about tax or MOT but you need insurance.
you can drive to get your mot but you hace to have insurance and tax
without tax and mot you can, only if you have an appointment with the mot station and can prove this if stopped by the police, insurance however i think is a must!
yes you need insurance and also an appointment with the mot station
If you have booked an m.o.t. then yes. If you are just turning up, no.
NO
You need insurance, you also need to pre-book your mot and get proof of this to drive there without mot or tax.
if you are testing a car without tax you can travel directly to a booked appointment at the mot testing station without tax and avoid a penalty if stopped by the police, though you need valid insurance and to buy your road tax at your earliest opportunity.
you only need insurance. the garage must know your reg number and the time of arrival for you both to be within the confines of the present law. pete
No.
If you have no mot. your insurance can NOT be counted as valid.
Just to clarify.
Insurance only covers a vehicle with a current mot certificate.
Have a crash and try to claim.
Your call
You must have insurance, if you have no tax or mot you need to make an appointment with the mot station and explain it to them, but you can only drive there and back where you started from if it fails. This is as I understand it. I am no expert. I also believe you have to book into your nearest mot station to keep it legal, but do check with the mot station first.
you need insurance and if you need a mot for tax as long as you have pre booked an mot and can prove it to the old bill you will be ok if you get pulled..good luck
You can drive to an MOT station without car tax only if you have pre booked a test but as car insurance is automatically invalid without up to date car tax it would not be possible to deliver it yourself. An alternative means such as collection with a test plate would be necessary.
You need insurance, and if you must go straight to the MOT station without tax
No
You can drive to and from an M.O.T. station with no mot
but make sure that you ring the mot station first to get an appointment. It is illegal to drive without insurance and you
could pick up a fine for no tax.
just to echo what most people have already said yes you need insurance and an appointment with the mot station to be able to drive it
Your car MUST have a valid Tax Disc on display to be allowed on the road at all. And insurance in case of accidents on the way to the MOT Garage.
It all depends! It is illegal to drive anytime without insurance, if you fail an MOT you can drive the vehicle to the retest provided you have booked an appointment. Your vehicle must be taxed up to date to be on the road.
It is unlikely that tax, MOT and insurance dates coincide (unless it is a brand new vehicle) in which case, why would you getting an MOT.
Check the source below if unsure, many people drive without insurance and only think of themselves not being covered. If you were to have an accident and kill someone, you could be paying for the rest of your life (in monetary terms) because you did not have the responsibility to insure your vehicle.
NO
you have to inform dvla with their special form
I know you can with no tax and mot but with regards to insurance I wouldn't like to say.
What I do know is that if you did have insurance and have been driving around with no tax or mot and had an accident you are likely to not get anything from an insurance claim because you are conflicting your policy agreement.
Your best bet is to get insured then go get the mot and then the tax, you can't get tax without an mot certifcate.
Its better to be safe than sorry.
