Heh no sorry, i'm great at navigating and remembering directions! i do worry about it ALOT beforehand, thinking i won't remember but once i get on the road i'm ok!
Ditto!
I am with you on this, sometimes i reconise landmarks and able to find my way but to be honest i dont take much notice unless im actually driving half he trouble with me is i dont remember the names of places.
No, I am directionally challenged! lol So is my oldest daughter but my youngest daughter has a great sense of direction (like her father!) So the 4 of us have quite a few laughs over this. And besides, when I'm not driving, I'm really not paying attention( not that paying attention would make a whole lotta difference!) to the route we're taking, I sight see! That's my story and I'm sticking with it!
I find it hard to remember my left from right half the time
I'm male but ave got a m8 who's like you
LOL.My ex was like that only in reverse.
I have a photographic memory so if I've been there daytime, nighttime, 5 years earlier, I will still remember.
no! me and my ex used to fight about this all the time!! I have to go there like 4/5 times before I REALLY know it on my own! he'd be like you know how to get there we went there once.. and I would just stare at him like "huh?"
Nope, sorry, I only need to do the journey once and I tend to remember - but I have spent a lot of my working life (motorcycle courier and chauffeuse) on the road an dmost new destinations are usually small diversions from established routes
Men tend to be the cr***iest navigators though
i have a good photographic memory , so i know where he is coming from
i,ve got no sense of direction , so sorry can,t help !
Sometimes I remember and sometimes I dont it depends how complex it was to get there in the first place. I do get the directions and a map and I can usually figure it out again
I am pretty good with getting to places sometimes I don't always take the right way but I do get there and then there are times when I can't find my way to the backyard.
To tell you the truth i usually DO remember after being somewhere once, but whenever it's my fiance asking to go somewhere i've been to once before, i always seem to forget and look so stupid in front of him. Sooo annoying.
I have a BAD sense of direction too.but sometimes i rely on how my subconscious memory guides me..
I understand that most chicks have no directional sense what-so-ever. If you took most of my friends to the end of their street they probably wouldn't be able to find their way home again.
However we are not all hopeless! I recently went back to somewhere I had spent many holidays as a child, I have not been there in over 10 years but I still knew my way around. Guess it just depends how much attention you pay.
I'm not so bad on the direction thing - it must be a biologically built in homing mechanism,
what I'm amazed at with blokes is how they remember stats, like obscure lines from films or every record the Stones recorded in a basement in Twickenham in 1986 or some such, I find it difficult just remembering peoples' names
Yep, i have a built in navigation system. i'm yet to get badly lost anywhere. If I DO take a wrong turning like on my somewhere that I've never been before, I generally seem to get back to where I was supposed to be going, and even found a better way sometimes!
Ha ha ha ha ha. All men are the same. My ex used to take me somewhere, then the next time take a different route then another route next time just so he could have a go at me because I didn't know how to find the place when I was driving. "YOU'VE BEEN THERE THREE TIMES!" It was so nice to divorce him. :-)
Thank you thank you thank you..my husband says I am hopeless cos I need to go somewhere SEVERAL times before any vague idea of where I am going happens. He knows straight after going somewhere the first time and I don't know whats more infuriating.him telling me I KNOW where it is or me NOT knowing where the heck I am going! So good to know I am not alone.yay!
I'm a man most of the time i don't know where Ive been never mind where I'm going, i travel a lot to play sports, and i go to the same grounds every year but i still like to follow the other players cars, there has been a few times the convoy has got lost.
Well men can't multi task so phone one when he is ironing.
It depends on how complicated it is to get there.
In general I'm terrible to find my way around, but I'm good in reading maps, so my problem is solved. You can always get GPS.
i do remember places but only if I'm not driving myself
I wish I could do that!! have a terrible memory for that sort of thing! Usually when I go somewhere I concentrate on other things without even looking at where I'm going. >.<
sometimes--depends on traffic and how much conversation to and from; some people have natural navigation--i like Mapquest!
Myself and a girl I work with, had to go to a meeting about ten minutes away from my house. My husband gave me the directions written on a piece of paper. We took the wrong turning and got lost for three hours. We live in Scotland and we were on the M74 heading for Carlise. So I suppose the answer is - No!
I've gone to a shopping centre, parked my car and reported it stolen when I came out! It was a centre that I've been to hundreds of times before as its 5 minutes from my house. Needless to say, my car was quickly found by security at the opposite entrance to where I was. So NO I definitely won't remember directions!
No problems I'm afraid - even when it was years ago and abroad. Also I love map-reading when walking in the countryside. My Mother was the same, however my son is the complete opposite however hence I navigate and drive - even in the Paris rush-hour.
I enjoy reading maps and getting to understand the lie of a piece of land - even if I don't get the chance to go there.
I only have to go somewhere once to remember it. I don't remember road numbers though. If I go anywhere I remember my surroundings. When I go and stay with my friend who lives 400 miles away I get there by using buildings, bridges, and petrol stations. It's wierd but I've never got lost yet.
Yes I do. I've got a great navigational ability and pay attention to what's going on around me. I drove from my home in northeast Missouri to San Diego and only looked at my road atlas about 3 times the entire trip. And from some of the answers on here, I'm really worried about being on the road with some of you, so please, stay out of Virginia.
