People parking right outside our front door??

I get the same problem where I live, most of the houses have a few cars and they park in front of other people's houses. I have no driveway yet (just a garden at the moment), when I first moved in the kerb was still at a normal height and the whole world parked there (including the taxi-driving neighbours 2 doors down, they own 2 taxis and a normal saloon car). We dropped the kerb (£600, rip-off council) in preparation for our future driveway and the taxi has stopped parking there but the rest still do it! I spoke to a police officer about it but I was informed it's only illegal if they trap your car in your driveway, apart from that, they have every right to park alongside your dropped kerb even if you have a driveway! I found this crazy but it's true. I've found no way around it so far, I politely asked some of the neighbours to stop but it started a war ("no, this road's just as much mine as it is yours, I pay my road tax!", etc). I think the next option will be to obtain some police cones.
Get a petition from all your neighbors and hand it in to the local council, he doesnt have a right to park his work cars in the street if other people need to use it, but then again you dont have a right either
sorry but you can't stop him parking where he likes on a public road, the only exception being if you have a dropped pavement or a disabled bay
Nobody has a god-given right to use a particular piece of road to park, even if it's outside your house, not you or your neighbour. First come first served is the rule but it seems a shame neighbours can';t get together and sort this out amicably.
I think there is some kind of regulation about how many cars each person is allowed ot park. Im sure its 2. Maybe contact citizens advice
Oh dear, what a sad neighbour you have. A) Complain to the authorities, B) Complain to the Police. If neither of those work, C) Find a good lawyer & take him to court. Finally, not a v.good idea but D) Start a personal war by parking in front of their house with the worst possible car you can find or E) Get some thugs to do some dirty work! lol.

that is so thoughtless of him to do such a thing..all the neighbours and yourself need to go and knock at his door and confront him about this!.tell him he needs to have some consideration for the pthere people who live nearby.he sounds extremely selfish to me.hope you have some luck!
The first thing you should do is to ask him in writing (Nicely) before you take it any further. Also if you could make a fair proposal like time allocation or something similar.
if you do not have a parking bay that is allacated to you and is a public highway and all his cars are taxed then no not much even though a real pain in the butt
So you have a drive outside your house? If he is parking in front of this he is breaking the law anyway as it is illegal to park infront of any drop kerb and I'm sure a parking inspector would love to help you. Otherwise I think you are pretty much left with no way of stopping him. As long as his car has tax and insurance he can park anywhere he likes.
Ask him nicely to leave you at least one space for your visitors. If he is parking outside your house instead of his own ask him why. Try and be nice and stay on his good side otherwise you will have an enemy.
simple thing is just put "NO PARKING" board in front of your gate.eventhen they park then complain about it..
If he is running a limo hire business from home (which it sounds like) it may be worth asking the council if he has permission to run such a business from home given the impact it is having on your quality of life.
park your car in your space, or if your mate gets a bus into town have him park his at yours. i've the same problem people use my street as a free car park because the hospital is at the end of the street. so my car stays where it is during working hours i pay rates for my space aint nobody else going to take it.
I think you ll find the easiest way round the problem is to find out if hes operating a registered business from home, think you ll find out hes not allowed to.local bye laws

There's safety in numbers. Get your neighbors involved. Don't confront this person alone.make sure you have the support of the others in the neighborhood, who are bothered by this thoughtless behavior.

The bottom line is that you have no right to ask them to move, they can legally park where they want, I agree tho, its a nuisance and I have been in the same situation myself.
And I honestly have no idea at all who caused that damage to their paint work late one night
Get yourself a few parking clamps,and charge them a silly amount to take them off
put a notice on the outside of you house saying unauthorised vehicles will be towed away.and if they are still there I'm sure you can.check with the council.
his house is likely registered for domestic use only, rather than business use, take that up with the council.
park your car, exceptionally arkwardly on the road, block as many of his favorite spaces ad possible so he has to re think his parking and leave your drive empty, it'll soon piss him off. Or if they're bad enough drivers to hit your fence, hire a skip for a week and plonk it in the road as arkward as you can. they won't reverse into that!!
