I suppose it depends on which state you are speeding in. But it sounds reasonable to me. What if you ran into a vehicle while you were travelling 100 mph? You sound like an irresponsible driver. Pull over sucker.
deffo. 103mph and it was a court summons. 3-month ban and a £150 fine. That was me - you might be similar unless you can convince the judge that you need your car for your work or you'll lose your job. A letter from your employer along those words would help to strengthen that case. Downside is that you'd face a heavier fine.

And using the question "will this affect my application into the police?" as a gentle way of getting off with it doesn't help either. OR saying that your speedo was out due to having fitted larger alloys and the tollerances of the speed camera etc etc. Been that soldier!
I think that is determined by the laws of the individual licensing states.

I believe California recently changed its laws to allow an officer to impound a vehicle if speeds were between 80-100mph but make it mandatory impoundement for minimum of 30 days if speed is over 100mph. After mimimun of 30 days you can go before the judge and plead your case WHY he should give you your car back. If you come up with a compelling case and the judge releases your car you still have a staggering financial penalty by way of fines and impound fees. If your argument fails, the judge will give you a staggering fine, suspend your driving rights for up to a year and either give your car to law enforcement or order it destroyed.

It is VERY tough to watch your prize hot rod go into the crusher, and you are compelled to watch as part of your sentance.

It is a LOT cheaper to do your 100mph + speeding on a racetrack
No, not always. If you are caught exceeding 100mph on the motorway it is an immediate court summons - the police can not deal with this on the roadside.

It is then in the hands of the court as to what happens. I was caught doing 104mph on the motorway and was issued with 5 penalty points and a £70 fine. It all depends on your circumstances and how you plead in the court.

If you need you driving licence for work and risk losing your job if you are banned they will take this into account.
I can only answer from the point of the UK. It is commonly accepted that 100mph and over is rather on the naughty side so they tend to be quite severe and slap on a ban for a period just to make you think about your dastardly bevaviour.

HOWEVER - there are some courts - as you would no doubt be in a magistrates court - that see the cut off in their area as a little tiny bit higher as they have motorways that are rather empty and people can't resist hurtling about on them.

If you need to drive for your occupation - hire somne legal help and drag together som mitigating circumstances with a bit of evidence about why you felt compelled to rush so much! - and why you need to keep your license.

ps only know as I was nabbed for 105mph - oops - I got a fine and six points.

Don't drive to court - they may not let you drive home again.

depends what mood the copper is in,Ive been let off for doing over 100 a couple of times.if you can show your alert when doing it they can sometimes be pretty good
yeah but only if your caught
I'm curiuous to know why Americans answer questions like this. It is obviously not aimed at them and their anwers are totaly irrelevant.
But, according to BRITISH law, if you break the speed limit by more than 30 mph, it can be classified as dangerous driving with an automatic ban. Unless you're a copper. Then you seem to be able to do what you like.
yes sorry .if you get cought doing 99 you get a fine or a prison sentence but over100 instant bann.
I don't think so, I think you get points off your licence if you don,t kill yourself first. If you want to travel at 100 miles an hour buy an aerplane.
