Question for the ford haters?
is it just because you have bought crap and wished it was a ford or are there just lots of silly people on here?
Answers:
lot's of people just can't accept that quality of a car brand can change. 20 years ago ford had a bad reputation and not without it's reason. Today however Ford manufactures cars that have in my view the best mechanics on the market. To take another example 20 years ago the most reliable car on the market was Volkswagen, If you try the latest models I think you'll happily agree that over the last few years they've been slipping quality wise
yay! i like ford! all our cars are ford. they work well and look nice!
I don't mind Fords. I don't like Citroens but Nissans are my favourite. I have had one for four years and it has never broken down once. Hurrah.
The only ford that I had left me stranded on the highway 4 times. I believe I was sold a lemon. One day I was leaving the post office and the wheel would not turn because something on the rod broke.
I like cars that are American. Ford or not. People are just ignorant. I own 2 fords and a Chevy right now. Really I have to admit my fords are kinda better built than my Chevy is.
I think there just silly people who live off the old reputation of Ford vehicles breaking down. Things like the Pinto etc. Today Ford quality is every bit as good as Chevrolet or Dodge.
I agree, we've had lots of Fords over the years and they have always been our most reliable cars.
I guess you don't want my answer because I am not a ford hater . but I would just like to say that I think Ford's cars are good quality and far more reliable than many other makes. I would buy a Ford above a lot of other car manufacturers. I think they are seen as a bit too ordinary and nothing special .. but I like them although I do drive a different make at the moment!
A recent reliability survey in Germany placed the German-built Focus higher than the supposedly unbreakable Toyota Corolla.
However, a lot of people in the UK have memories of British-built Fords of the 1970s and 1980s which suffered numerous problems (often water-related), while people in the US will be aware of the high number of recalls issued on the Mexican-built Focus, which has never met the standards of the German-built version sold in Europe.
I have just had better luck with Chevy, even when I did buy crap. They were easier to fix and kept on running. I had a 1936 Chevy Master when I was a kid, I wanted it to blow up so that I had something to work on, it just kept on running. I have just been happiest with GM products over the years.
The only thing Ford sells that is a waste of money is their extended warranty.
My advice? Scrap it!
recently bought the new focus st, and to be honest if there is anybody who has driven one and still can say ford are crap are on the wrong planet. for what the car cost and the performance you get you are getting a belter of a car.
can U tell from my name, but i love them, they are reliable, easy to fix, good fun to drive to, the old one any way not really had much experience with the newer ones
They just don't have the same image as BMW or mercedes or the comfort of a range rover my current car no i would not be going back to a ford ever.
20 years as a tech 4 @ a shop for every-car 2 @ a Chevy dealer and 12 @ a Ford dealer.. trust me Fords brake more often and for bigger dollars. about the only thing to compare are Dodges per Mercedes takeover.. Ford tops the list for crappp box's followed closely by Mopar junk Up top for reliable and cheep to keep are Toyota Honda VW and good Ole Chevys
Fix Or Repair Daily.vauxhall rule!!!
Peugeot is for me
I don't HATE fords but they r poorly built inside and out. First of all the interior is 99 percent plastic on the newer models you guys went from rattle traps to squeak traps. Second the engines on the newer models are good as far as the blocks go but the plastic under the hood tends to wear very fast. So all in all ford needs to make better plastic. JUST MY OPINION
I dislike these FORD ideas - if you work on them you WILL know what I mean
A4LD -- Light duty transmission - weak
A4OD - Probmatic transmission - poor longivity
Early TFI modules - common failures
Headlight connectors - common failures
Ignition switch - Multi Recalls
mid 1960,s paint quality
A/C garter springlock connectors - leaks waiting to happen
Varible venturi carbs
composite brake rotors
dual piston truck calipers on F350's
Aerostars - total package
Explorer transfer cases
HAVE YOU REPLACED AN ALTERNATOR ON A NEW TRANSIT YET MY GOD WHAT AN AWFUL TASK .
THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT COMES TO DESIGN FOR EASE OF ACCESS
